Psychology Majors: 10 Things to Remember (not
necessarily
the only things)
#1 You can always come back to the Psyc 250 Site for information
#2 Use, monitor, or forward mail from your Metro State E-mail
(for
better or worse that is how the
University communicates with you).
#3 You are responsible for knowing and following the University's
rules.
These would include things listed in
the Student Handbook, the Undergraduate Catalog,
and
the University's Policies and Procedures. Links
to most of these things can be found online.
#4 Your
advisor is the key to tracking and verifying your graduation
plan. Check in with her/him if you want
to change your plan to make sure that you stay on
track
for a timely graduation.
#5 Think about jobs and/or graduate school BEFORE your last term.
Some
things might advise/require early
applications or you may be able to add helpful
(required?)
learning experiences (internship or course).
#6 Join and stay current with the Psychology Club -- it is FREE
and
they may offer a session or activity you don't want to miss.
#7 If you do well academically, consider joining our chapter of
Psi
Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology.
#8 Consider internships and/or research experiences for elective
credit
(as well as the application of knowledge requirement)
#9 Take advantage of Earlier registration times as you gain
"status"
at the University
#10 Have some fun outside of classes
